A wise one and True

Loneliness is the human condition. Cultivate it. The way it tunnels into you allows your soul room to grow. Never expect to outgrow loneliness. Never hope to find people who will understand you, someone to fill that space. And intelligent, sensitive person is the exception, the very great exception. If you expect to find people who will understand you, you will grow murderous with disappointment. The best you’ll ever do is to understand yourself, know what it is that you want, and not let the cattle stand in your way.”

  1. Your words draw such lovely pictures. I particularly liked the aspect of loneliness tunnelling to create space within us for our souls to grow. This is brilliant! Thank you.

  2. Kaytee, this is PRECISELY what I needed to read just now. I have just let go of any desire to tell any of my local friends about my book series project, my blog, or my Facebook page–or why I am tweeting with people on the other side of the world. THANK YOU for providing this trigger to release my pent up anxiety about not being “understood”.

    1. oh i know that one…. i dream of a world where my “real” friends care about my writing at all…. at least i have a girlfriend who does that’s more than i ever dared ask for
